I need help right away because I've got to get into my computer by Monday. I'm also experiencing some financial setbacks and I don't have the money or time to take my computer to a store or another business. I REALLY need help, I have VERY important files on there. I let it sit on the startup screen for a while and saw no progress.

I went to the disk utility part to see if I could restore SOMETHING, but it just will not work.īecause I was getting desperate to log back into my computer, I clicked the option to reinstall a new copy of macOS and it also asks for a password but it still will not allow me to type (I don't even know the password) The next time I tried it, it wouldn't let me type any passwords in. I typed in the admin password because I didn't know what to do, and it just went back to the recovery screen. Only one time did it allow me to attempt to recover, but it asked for a password for the disk and I didn't know it.

I suspect that the computer can't locate my accounts.? I went into recovery mode (command+r) and tried to recover a backup. I have absolutely no clue what that means. I tried to enter the Terminal by pressing Command + S when I restarted again, I got a brief screen with white text that said:īuildUser(): error building a user of type 0x20010008 I shut it down and turned it back on MANY times, but I get the same results. I heard the chime and the startup screen appeared (just the black background with the apple logo), but it won't pass there. I thought maybe my computer was bugging out, so I restarted it. When I logged back in and went into Finder, it said the old account was still there and the user & groups preferences said it was there as well. I logged out of the account that I was currently on and it was the only account on the log in page. When I was finishing up, I went to log back into the old account and it had been removed, but I hadn't done it. Ive deleted the packages a million times and reimported it and over and over and over again. I have been getting pretty ticked off with Unitys IAP BS!
